VEGAS INC will honor the remarkable people and businesses in Southern Nevada who make a difference in the charitable landscape of our community. The Angel Awards were established to acknowledge and encourage the accomplishments and contributions of our most outstanding community leaders and will be included in our special publication, the Giving Guide, which will showcase nonprofit organizations across the valley on Aug. 30.
Award categories:
Individual:
- Humanitarian of the Year
- Honors someone devoted to the promotion of human welfare and is concerned with the overall interests and well-being of the local population - Volunteer of the Year
- Honors someone who dedicates their time and energy to assisting a local nonprofit organization - Cultural Advocate/ Entertainer of the Year
- Honors someone devoted to the promotion of the arts, entertainment or cultural activities in Southern Nevada
Company:
- Nonprofit of the Year
- Honors the work of a local nonprofit (as defined by the IRS) for its work in Southern Nevada - Philanthropic Business of the Year - Public
- Honors the philanthropic efforts of a public company and its employees to improve life in Southern Nevada - Philanthropic Business of the Year - Private
- Honors the philanthropic efforts of a privately owned company and its employees to improve life in Southern Nevada - Foundation of the Year
- Honors the work of a local foundation (as defined by the IRS) for its work in Southern Nevada
Nominations should include a statement of no longer than 500 words outlining why the individual or company should be considered in that respective category. Other supporting information can also be submitted. Please include the contact information (phone, e-mail, website, etc.) for the candidate or company as well.
Deadline for entries was June 22. Winners will be included in our special publication, the Giving Guide, which will showcase nonprofit organizations across the valley on Aug. 30.
