Three Square Food Bank gets new president

Three Square Food Bank has appointed Brian Burton as president and CEO to lead the Southern Nevada charity.

Burton will succeed Founder, President and CEO Julie Murray, who started Three Square in 2007. The change will be effective April 25.

Burton most recently served as executive director of the Wilkinson Center in Dallas, a nonprofit that provides low-income families with emergency services. He has 20 years of nonprofit experience, a release from the organization said.

Murray will be moving into a consulting role for Feeding America, one of the nation’s leading hunger-relief organizations. She will continue to serve as an adviser for Three Square.

Under her leadership, Three Square has provided more than 50 million pound of food and grocery products through more than 600 program partners, serving 100,000 individuals on a monthly basis.
