A national steakhouse chain is expanding off the Las Vegas Strip with a restaurant at Town Square.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is under construction at the 93-acre office and retail center on Las Vegas Boulevard at Sunset Road.

A Town Square spokeswoman could not confirm when it would open. Fleming’s spokeswoman Michelle St. Angelo said the chain is not yet releasing details about the new restaurant, adding that a “full announcement will come later this year.”

Fleming’s, with 65 locations in 28 states, already has a restaurant in the valley, on Charleston Boulevard between Durango Drive and Rampart Boulevard. That one is expected to remain open.

The chain was founded in 1998 in Newport Beach, Calif., and is owned by Tampa, Fla.-based Bloomin’ Brands Inc. The company owns several other restaurant chains, including Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Roy’s.

Bonefish Grill opened at Town Square this year.
