The quest to be the latest “it” spot in Las Vegas now has more contenders.

A new bar at Tivoli Village hopes to mimic a trip to Hong Kong in the 1920s, and a new restaurant on the Strip aims to elevate American classics.

Elsewhere, a popular Filipino restaurant chain opened its first Las Vegas location, and a credit union from Utah expanded in Southern Nevada.

The Den, a bar on the second level of the Poppy Den Asian Bistro at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Blvd., celebrated its grand opening Nov. 8.

The bar serves handcrafted cocktails, ramen, dim sum and chicken wings. Bottle service also is available.

The Den is open from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

    • Ketchup

      Ketchup Premium Burger Bar

The Ketchup Premium Burger Bar at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood is expected to open by the end of the month.

The eatery will put a twist on American classics, including burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads and milkshakes.

The Las Vegas location will be the only Ketchup restaurant in the United States. Three others are located in the Middle East. A Los Angeles location closed in 2012.

The local menu also has been tweaked, with approval from the Dolce Group, the restaurant’s management company, to offer quicker service.

    • Max’s Restaurant

Max’s Restaurant, at 1290 E. Flamingo Road near UNLV, opened last month, serving traditional Filipino cuisine, such as pinakbit (steamed vegetable stew), pansit (a Chinese noodle dish) and fried whole chicken.

It is the chain's first location in Las Vegas and its ninth in the United States. The Las Vegas site also serves as the corporate training center for North American operations.

The restaurant, which took over space formerly occupied by the Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon, is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

    • Tervis

      Tervis

This tumbler manufacturer opened its second Las Vegas store, at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

The shop sells insulated Tervis tumblers, which can be customized with designs and logos.

It is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

The company’s first location is at 6569 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

    • Mountain America Credit Union

Mountain America Credit Union relocated its Las Vegas branch to 7280 W. Lake Mead Blvd., on Nov. 4.

The location at 4810 W. Desert Inn Road closed.

The credit union is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
