Openings and closings: Chinese food, steak and computers

A pair of restaurants inside the Wynn soon will close, while others will pop up around town.

But both Wynn restaurants will be back in business before the end of the year.

Here's a look at some local openings, closings and renovations on the horizon:

    • Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas.

Wing Lei, a Chinese restaurant inside the Wynn, is set to close Oct. 8.

A six-time winner of the AAA Four Diamond award, the eatery will undergo renovations to change its ambiance and decor. It is scheduled to reopen Dec. 21.

    • Langoustine at Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare at the Wynn.

Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, an Italian restaurant also in the Wynn, will close Nov. 3 for refurbishing.

The fresh seafood and homemade pasta haunt is set to return Dec. 21.

    • A rendering of Fizz at Caesars Palace.

      Fizz Las Vegas

David Furnish, Elton John’s spouse, has joined with Marvel Management and Marketing to open Fizz Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, featuring high-end Champagnes and spirits.

The 2,750-square-foot lounge and bar will offer luxury caviar and other small plates created by John’s personal chef.

It is set to open later this year.

    • Apple Store

      It wasn’t gone for long.

The Apple Store at the Forum Shops reopened Aug. 29 after an 11-day closure for renovations.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

    • Echo & Rig Butcher Steakhouse

Echo & Rig, which opened Friday at Tivoli Village, wants to give you the perfect piece of grilled meat.

Butchers at the restaurant/shop will provide guests with prime cuts of meat and instructions about how to cook them.

If you’re not up for grilling your own steak, a chef will cook it for you. The menu, by Sam Marvin, features more than 90 items.

The restaurant is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
