SLS Las Vegas is set to open Labor Day weekend.

The announcement arrived today in the form of a banner across the forthcoming resort’s website, where SBE Entertainment CEO Sam Nazarian posted a blog item about the opening.

“It’s been an incredible journey these past few years and I’m proud and humbled by some big news — SLS Las Vegas is officially opening Labor Day Weekend 2014,” Nazarian posted. “Looking forward to toasting The Strip’s next chapter with you! We are ‘back’ indeed!”

The blog post also featured a picture of a note written by Nazarian after the closing of the old Sahara, which will become SLS. “Be back soon! Thank you for 59 years,” the note said.

The brainchild of SBE Entertainment and private equity firm Stockbridge Capital Group, the $415 million, 1,600-room SLS Las Vegas will open more than three years after the Sahara closed.
