Ghirardelli unveils new location; Elvis exhibition is leaving the building

A major chocolate manufacturer is fulfilling its promise to return to Las Vegas.

Dessert destination Ghirardelli arrived at the Linq in late February. Also at the Linq, a frames and sunglasses retailer has set up shop.

Elsewhere in town, a new restaurant promises exotic flavors, and a successful French bakery brand expands. A rehabilitation center offers help to those with spinal cord injuries, and Binion’s bids farewell to an Elvis Presley collection.

      Ghirardelli

      Ghirardelli returned to the Strip on Feb. 28 with the opening of a location at the Linq.

      The new 1,400-square-foot shop sells the company’s signature chocolates as well as ice cream and chocolate-based drinks.

      The business is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

      Ghirardelli previously operated a Strip location at Harrah’s.

      The King’s Ransom

      The King’s Ransom Museum, an exhibition of items owned by Elvis Presley, will close at Binion’s on March 31.

      The collection, which has been at Binion’s since August, includes the last car Presley ever purchased, shown above on display at the Imperial Palace.

      The traveling exhibition’s new home has not yet been announced.

      French bakery and bistro Camille by Manon opened Feb. 24.

      A new venue from the family behind Patisserie Manon, the eatery located at 2170 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, serves a full menu but highlights its desserts. Display cases are packed with macaroons, tarts, cakes and more.

      The business is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

      Sholay

      Sholay, a café offering Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, opened in mid-January.

      The 2,050-square-foot restaurant serves up kabobs, burgers and more.

      Sholay is located at 5191 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 110, Las Vegas. The business is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

      Project Walk

      Paralysis recovery center Project Walk opened its first Las Vegas franchise Feb. 3.

      The 5,000-square-foot space promotes intense, activity-based recovery for the center’s patients, individuals with spinal cord injuries.

      Project Walk Las Vegas, located at 365 Pilot Road, Suite B, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    • Chilli Beans

      Chilli Beans

      Brazilian eyewear brand Chilli Beans opened a new shop Feb. 28 at the Linq.

      The store features a collection of frames and sunglasses from Brazil and the U.S. The 1,200-square-foot space also offers accessories such as watches.

      Founded in 1998 by musician-turned-entrepreneur Caito Maia, Chilli Beans describes itself as “the largest accessories franchise that specializes in eyewear in Latin America.”
