Restaurant undergoes transformation at Suncoast; retailers flock to Miracle Mile

The Game, a restaurant which replaced T.G.I. Friday’s at Suncoast, has more than 100 TVs, according to a news release.

A restaurant new to the Suncoast is boasting more than 100 linear feet of TVs for sports viewing. The former TGI Fridays at the resort has transformed into the Game, which is designed to combine the sports-frenzied atmosphere of a sports book with the intimacy and comfort of an upscale sports bar and grill.

Also, retailers flock to Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, a WSS shoe store celebrates its grand opening and an online gaming operation closes.

      The Game opened in late October, taking the place of the TGI Fridays next to the movie theater at the Suncoast.

      The restaurant includes 15 75-inch screens, according to a news release.

      TGI Fridays outlets at other Boyd Gaming casinos in the Las Vegas Valley — Sam’s Town, Orleans and Gold Coast — will continue to operate.

      The Game is open from 4:30 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

      Suncoast is at 9090 Alta Drive in Las Vegas.

      Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood announced plans to convert nearly 6,000 square feet of open space into retail destinations.

      LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics opened in early November, MAC Cosmetics plans to open in December and Desigual aims to open by end of winter, according to a news release. Additionally, House of Hoops has moved into a larger space.

      Planet Hollywood is at 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

      Shoe retailer WSS celebrated its grand opening at 2209 E. Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas on Nov. 15, according to a news release. The store opened to customers Nov. 8.

      It’s the first WSS in the Las Vegas area and the first WSS outside California, according to the release.

      The North Las Vegas location has more than 20 employees and plans to expand.

      Zippo continued its expansion in Las Vegas with the Oct. 31 opening of a store at MGM Grand, according to a news release.

      Zippo, an international brand in the manufacturing of lighters and various outdoor supplies and accessories, also recently opened stores at Luxor and Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

      MGM Grand is at 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

      Henderson-based TWC Construction Inc. broke ground on a project for VSR Industries on Nov. 19, according to a news release.

      VSR Industries specializes in sheet metal and wood manufacturing.

      The groundbreaking was at 1743 Whitney Mesa Drive in Henderson.

      Ultimate Gaming, which had been one of Nevada’s three legal online poker providers, revealed Nov. 14 it is ceasing operations in the state.

      Sluggish revenues and a limited pool of players were cited as reasons for the closure.
