Burger spot shakes up Downtown Summerlin; new Raising Cane’s to debut

A new burger joint will debut at Downtown Summerlin as a baseball legend's restaurant and sports bar hits the Strip. A business specializing in chicken fingers plans yet another Nevada location, and a North Las Vegas park prepares to debut its new entertainment venue.

Meanwhile, a northwest valley park is honoring a fallen police officer.

    • Shake Shack

      Burger joint Shake Shack opens Wednesday morning at Downtown Summerlin.

      The 3,000-square-foot space at 10975 Oval Park Drive, near West Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway, will be the chain's second Las Vegas location. The New York-New York location debuted last year.

      The business will serve the chain's signature burgers, fries and hot dogs as well as custards with a local flair, such as the Summerlin S’more, which features chocolate custard, marshmallow sauce, graham cracker and chocolate truffle cookie dough.

      The business is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

      Chicken lovers, rejoice!

      Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers will debut its 10th Nevada location Oct. 16.

      The new restaurant at 3535 W. Tropicana Ave., near South Valley View Boulevard, is 3,030 square feet and will dish out Cane's chicken fingers, sweet tea and more.

      The first 100 customers in line at the opening will receive a T-shirt and a free box combo on their next visit, and all of the profits from opening day will go to the Nevada chapter of March of Dimes.

      Raising Cane's on Tropicana will be open 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

    • Pete Rose Bar & Grill quietly opened Oct. 1, 2015, at 3743 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near East Harmon Avenue.

      Former Major League Baseball player Pete Rose has partnered with dining consultant and developer HIG Management to bring a new restaurant and sports bar to the Strip.

      Pete Rose Bar & Grill, which quietly opened Thursday, is at 3743 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near East Harmon Avenue.

      The 9,000-square-foot venue serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with “Pete Rose Specials” highlighting teams Rose played for during his baseball career. Specials include a Cincinnati chili on spaghetti honoring the Cincinnati Reds and a Philly cheesesteak for the Philadelphia Phillies. The grand opening is Oct. 14.

      The hours of operation are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

    • Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater

      The amphitheater at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas will hold its grand opening Friday, followed by the first concert at the venue.

      The venue, at 628 W. Craig Road, near North Commerce Street, will offer concerts, theater, dance shows, comedy events, festivals and more.

      Tickets to the first show, featuring Beatles tribute band Yesterday, are $5 general admission and $10 for reserved seats, not including taxes. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the ticket website.

      A park in Providence Master Planned Community held its grand opening Sept. 27.

      Huckleberry Park quietly debuted its amenities, including dog parks, a field, a basketball court, swings and more, to the public May 26.

      The grand opening included the annual Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday event as well as the dedication of a bench in honor of slain Metro Police officer Igor Soldo, a Providence resident killed during an ambush last year.

      There are no formal operating hours for the park at 10325 Farm Road, near North Hualapai Way, but quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
