About a month after wrapping up a big merger that transitioned it into a publicly traded business, Golden Entertainment Inc. said today that it is adding four locations to its Las Vegas empire next year.
The additional locations include three taverns under the PT’s Ranch and PT’s Gold brands, as well as a new brewery concept.
The expansion should add about 100 employees to the company, which went public upon finishing its merger with Lakes Entertainment last month.
“We plan to expand by building upon what has been a winning formula for us and expect 2016 will be a notable year for our tavern business,” Blake Sartini, Golden Entertainment’s chief executive, said in a company statement. “While we have grown steadily in the last 13 years, the upcoming year represents our most aggressive growth strategy to date.”
Under the expansion, the company will open a PT’s Ranch at 6450 S. Durango Drive, a PT’s Gold at Whitney Ranch and Sunset Road and another PT’s Gold at a location yet to be announced.
The brewery, which will be called PT’s Brewing Company, is set to open in the first quarter of 2016 in what was once the Tenaya Creek Brewery and restaurant in the northwest valley.
Golden Entertainment plans to “completely remodel” the old space, creating what the company suggests will be the first of multiple similar locations.
PT’s Brewing Company will be able to hold 3,000 barrels of handcrafted beer each year, including seven of its own craft beers on tap, in addition to other local craft and domestic beers, according to the statement.
Sartini called the brewery the “next natural step in the company’s evolution and expansion.” Golden Entertainment has grown substantially since its inception: The company said it has added 30 locations over the last 13 years since acquiring the PT’s tavern chain in 2002.
Golden Entertainment also runs a slot machine route business with thousands of devices inside Nevada grocery stores and similar spots. The company has three casinos in Pahrump and, because of its recent merger, another casino in Maryland.
