Las Vegas’ newest resort, the Cosmopolitan, has been named to Conde Nast Traveler’s annual Hot List.
The hotel was the only Las Vegas resort to be named to the list and joins other U.S. hotels such as the Four Seasons in Denver, The Chatwal in New York and the JW Marriott in Chicago.
“The 2,995-room Cosmopolitan, despite fulfilling the formula of any glitzy, behemoth Vegas casino-hotel, manages to feel both unique and intimate. The latter is due in part to the hotel's verticality, which spreads the public areas over three floors instead of one,” Conde Nast Traveler noted in its write-up of the property.
The Strip resort was one of 124 hotels on this year’s Hot List and one of 40 hotels on the list that offer rooms for less than $300 a night.
Conde Nast Traveler has annually named a new Las Vegas resort to its list since 2007. Aria, Mandarin Oriental, Palazzo, Encore and Red Rock have all been honored.
Cosmopolitan’s spa and one of its restaurants, China Poblano, also took spots on Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List. The spa was one of seven named in the U.S. and the only one in Las Vegas.
Jose Andres’ China Poblano was also the only Las Vegas restaurant on the list. Conde Nast honored Andres as this year’s “Hot Restaurateur.” It’s the year the travel magazine and website has named individuals in hospitality to the list.
