MGM Resorts International announced Friday that it promoted a Mandalay Bay executive to general manager of the Monte Carlo hotel-casino.

Patrick Miller succeeds Anton Nikodemus, the former president of the Monte Carlo who was promoted to president of MGM Resorts casino marketing in August.

Miller will report to Randy Morton, president of the company's Bellagio resort.

Under MGM Resorts' management structure, Miller was named Monte Carlo general manager as opposed to president because this is his first position overseeing an entire resort.

''Patrick has more than 17 years of experience in the industry and with MGM Resorts," Morton said in a statement. "With strong leadership skills and deep knowledge, Patrick will lead the terrific Monte Carlo team at a very exciting time for the property."

Miller most recently served as vice president of marketing at Mandalay Bay. He previously was vice president of casino operations at Monte Carlo. He began his career in 1995 as a pit clerk at the Mirage.

The Monte Carlo has 2,992 hotel rooms and a boutique hotel, HOTEL32, on its top floor.
