MGM Resorts International has signed a contract extension with the Culinary Union as both groups work to negotiate a new labor deal.
"We have agreed to extend MGM contracts," said MGM spokeswoman Mary Hynes.
The extensions, signed May 29, include all Culinary workers at MGM's nine Strip properties, which include the Bellagio, Mirage and Mandalay Bay.
Officials of Caesars Entertainment Corp. — a company with 10 establishments locked in negotiations — say a similar deal is in the works.
"We're in the process of signing indefinite extensions with the Culinary," said Caesars Spokesman Gary Thompson, who would not comment on specifics of the deal.
Contract extensions may be terminated by either party with 14 days notice.
