    • Yolie Kelley was promoted to marketing and IT manager at Nevada State Development Corp. She has been with NSDC since 2007. NSDC operates offices in Las Vegas and Reno, working with small businesses to help them purchase new or existing facilities.

    • Local physician Jorge Burgos is a recipient of a 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award. HealthInsight is a private, nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to improving health and health care in Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

    • Scott Fewell and Jennifer Ballew are regional managers at FirstService Residential, a community management company. Ballew previously served as director of training and development as well as a community manager for FirstService Residential. Fewell previously worked with FirstService as a lifestyle director. He has seven years of industry experience.

    • Marla Hudgens, a member of the litigation department at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, is chairwoman-elect of the Appellate Litigation Section of the State Bar of Nevada.

    • Lee Butts, who has more than two decades of rodeo experience, is the executive director of the Helldorado Rodeo, which will be held behind the Smith Center from May 14-18. Since 1934, the event has raised more than $4 million — $100,000 in the past two years — for local charities.

    • Donald Soderberg is administrator of the state’s Division of Industrial Relations. He is based in the Las Vegas office and oversees the division’s statewide operations. Soderberg has more than 25 years of legal and regulatory experience, including eight years as the chairman of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission.

    • Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada and the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation have reached an agreement that allows for the move of two board-certified pediatric hematology oncology physicians — Drs. Alexandra Walsh and Nik Abdul Rashid — from CCCN to Cure 4 The Kids, where they will see patients at the Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada clinic at 3121 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 300, Las Vegas.

    • Todd Keffury completed the qualifications to become one of Waddell & Reed’s financial advisers who are authorized to offer the firm’s Financial Wellness Program. It is intended to help employees build awareness of where they stand financially, then to educate them on how to establish and work toward their financial goals.

    • Karen Newcomer is construction sales manager of SouthWest Electritech Service’s Las Vegas office. She has more than 30 years of experience, including 15 in the Las Vegas market. Her fields of experience include distribution, operations management and outside sales.

    • The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada held its annual to honor local attorneys who together over the past year have provided more than 20,000 hours of free legal services for low-income Nevadans in Clark County. More than 1,500 clients are being provided pro bono legal representation through Legal Aid Center. Honored at the event were:

      Andrew Kynaston of Kainen Law Group, 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. He worked on 13 pro bono cases and contributed more than 349 hours of pro bono services in 2013.

      Gordon Silver, 2013 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year. This year the firm committed 20 of its Las Vegas lawyers to performing more than 470 hours on 29 new pro bono cases.

      Paola Armeni of Gordon Silver, Myrna Williams Children’s Pro Bono Award for her work on behalf of abused and neglected children who are in the foster care system.

      Laura Deeter of Ghandi Deeter Law Offices, Louis Wiener Service Award for her dedication to serving victims of domestic violence and clients in the area of family law.

      Dan Waite of Lewis Roca Rothgerber, Vince A. Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award for his long-term commitment to ensuring access to justice for clients in civil law matters.
