People on the move: May 25-31

Elaine Wynn donated $250,000 to After-School All-Stars, the nonprofit organization she helped create. Wynn has supported the group since its inception in 1995 and serves on its board of directors. She also donated $250,000 to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.

Mauro Lara is associate executive director and chief operating officer and Lisa Manning is chief financial officer of Opportunity Village. Bob Brown is president of the Opportunity Village Foundation.

Patrick Duffy was appointed to the board of directors for the Southern Nevada “I Have A Dream” Foundation. Duffy is chief experience officer at Diamond Resorts International.

Attorney Albert Marquis, a founding partner at Marquis Aurbach Coffing, was appointed to the board of directors of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.

More than 20 Bank of America employee volunteers helped Denzila Watts, a local single mother of three, by donating about $20,000 in landscaping, painting, flooring and damage repair for her new Las Vegas home. Bank of America donated the house to Habitat for Humanity and funded the renovations.

Jeffrey Gordon, president and CEO of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, was named one of the 2014 Governor’s Philanthropists of the Year by the Southern Highlands Charitable Foundation.
