Darwin Dizon is director of sales at Veer Towers. Dizon has been part of the Veer Towers team since Pordes Residential took over sales in early 2013. Dizon was named the top Veer Towers on-site sales executive for 2013 and 2014.

Kevin E. Hooks, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Urban League, is a member of the inaugural class of Presidential Leadership Scholars, a national leadership development initiative. He is the only candidate from Las Vegas.

Tiffany James, communications director at the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, won Realtor Certified Executive designation from the National Association of Realtors. Eligible candidates must document understanding of association operations and management practices.

Keith Kaderlik is instructional web designer and learning management system coordinator for PBS’ Global Online Advanced Learning program. Newly elected members of the executive board are Raul Daniels of N9NE Group at the Palms, attorney Mary Chapman, DonorBasis founder Tom Kovach and Caesars Entertainment’s Arron Benson.

Jose L. Melendrez was appointed to the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s board of trustees by the Las Vegas City Council. He replaces outgoing board member Kelly Benavidez. Melendrez is assistant vice president in the UNLV Office of Diversity Initiatives. His term runs through March 2019.

Matthew LaPorte was named one of 11 national Rising Star journalism instructors by the Journalism Education Association. LaPorte teaches at the Southwest Career and Technical Academy.

John Guedry is CEO of Bank of Nevada. Guedry, a UNLV graduate, previously was president and chief operating officer of the bank.

Fletcher Whitwell is a senior vice president and group managing director at R&R Partners, overseeing the company’s Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C./Maryland offices.
