Southern California lender opens office in Las Vegas

A Southern California lender and financial advisory firm has expanded to Las Vegas.

First Foundation, based in Irvine, opened an office this month at 6725 Via Austi Parkway, near the southwest corner of McCarran International Airport’s airfield.

The company offers banking, wealth management, insurance and trust services. The Las Vegas outpost is its seventh office and first outside Southern California.

First Foundation was founded in 1990 as an investment management firm. Executives opened First Foundation Bank in 2007 and have pushed heavily into real estate lending.

The bank, with $708 million in deposits, had put 92 percent of its $777 million loan portfolio into real estate deals as of March 31, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data.
