Daylight opened at Mandalay Bay Memorial Day weekend 2013.

Las Vegas is again the top destination for travelers over Memorial Day 2014, according to a new survey released today.

More travel bookings on priceline.com were made for Las Vegas than any other destination, the travel website said.

This is the 12th year priceline.com has published its list of the top 50 destinations for Memorial Day, the traditional kickoff to the summer travel season. Directly behind Las Vegas on the this year's list are San Diego (2), Orlando, Fla. (3), New York (4), and Orange County (5).

The sole international destination on priceline’s list this year is London, at No. 38.

Brian Ek, travel editor for priceline.com, attributed the preponderance of warm-weather destinations in this year’s top 5 to another unusually cold spring across much of the United States.

This year’s list marks a return to the No. 1 spot for Las Vegas for Memorial Day, the traditional kickoff to the summer travel season. A year ago, New York claimed the top destination title with Las Vegas at No. 2.

Las Vegas has been the top destination in six of the 12 years priceline.com has compiled its Memorial Day travel survey: 2014, 2012, 2009, 2005, 2004 and 2003.
