      Mario Ramirez was promoted to landscaping manager for Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services. He previously was foreman and has been with the company for 11 years.

    • R&R Partners acquired a majority interest in Weeks & Co., a national political and corporate positioning firm in Austin, Texas. Leading R&R’s Austin office will be David M. Weeks as Texas president, along with Suzanne Hofmann Erickson as vice president of government and public affairs. Additionally, R&R announced a joint venture with Hannegan Landau Poersch Advocacy, a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. The two companies will share offices in R&R’s existing D.C. office. The firm opened three new office in the past two years and operates eight offices nationally.

      Manita Rawat, an attorney in Armstrong Teasdale’s Intellectual Property practice group, has been elected to a six-year term on the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada board of directors. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

    • Jan B. Leggett was appointed and Stephen P. Quinn was reappointed by Gov. Brian Sandoval to the Nevada State Contractors Board through Oct. 31, 2015. The board is composed of six licensed contractors and one public representative. Leggett replaces Nathaniel “Nat” W. Hodgson III. He is a manager at Moana Nursery in Reno. Quinn is president of Precision Construction and chairman of the city of Las Vegas Building and Safety Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee.

      KK BOLD, a casino marketing and branding agency, opened a Las Vegas office. The Bismarck, N.D.-based agency, one of the leading Indian gaming marketing agencies in the Upper Midwest, currently serves clients in North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington and California. Las Vegas native Lara Abramovitz will serve as the agency’s business development director and manage the Las Vegas office. She has 14 years of experience in sales, casino marketing and management.

      Thomas Masters was appointed chief operating officer of American Patriot Solar Community, a Las Vegas solar energy installation company. Masters has 36 years of experience working in construction and project development, specializing in the design and construction of high-rise offices, condominiums and hotels.

    • Kyle Kubovchik is Nevada director of Penna Powers Brian Haynes, an advertising, public involvement, public relations and digital agency. He will head the agency’s Nevada office and lead its public involvement and marketing teams in supporting state education and communication initiatives.

      Vincent Schettler is a senior vice president at Colliers International – Las Vegas. Schettler’s areas of expertise include land acquisition, negotiation and project management. As a member of the land division, he will focus on the sale and acquisition of land in Southern Nevada and Southern California. Schettler previously was executive vice president of sales and acquisitions at Focus Property Group Inc.

Steve Brooke, of Jaynes Corp., is president; Guy Martin, of Martin-Harris Construction, is first vice president; Bryce Clutts, of Danoski-Clutts Building Group, is second vice president; and Ray Sedey, of McCarthy Building Cos., is secretary/treasurer.       Brenda Loreto has joined Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada as an oncology liaison for the Henderson area. Loreto will work to maintain existing business relationships and generate new business for the group practice, which specializes in providing oncology, hematology, radiation services and breast surgery to Southern Nevadans. Loreto previously worked at Desert Radiologists and Desert Pediatrics.

    • John Unwin, president and CEO of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, was named Hotelier of the Year by the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association.

      Rick Belhumeur

      Two amusement and water park industry experts have joined the Wet ’n’ Wild Las Vegas management team. Takuya Ohki was named general manager and Rick Belhumeur director of operations and maintenance. Both are managers at Village Roadshow Theme Parks, part of Village Roadshow Limited, the entertainment company developing the Wet ’n’ Wild water park in Summerlin.
