Granola lovers’ Heaven debuts; pizza and amusement rides head to Boulevard mall

Meanwhile, a family-friendly pizza and amusement space arrives at the Boulevard mall, and a Nike-centric store kicks things up at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

      Bowl of Heaven, a health-conscious California-based company, opened a west valley location Friday.

      The 1,500-square-foot business specializes in smoothies, juices, granola and açaí bowls — bowls of granola, honey and fruits including the antioxidant-rich açaí berry.

      Bowl of Heaven is located at 2400 South Hualapai Way, near Sahara Avenue.

      One of the company's signature menu items is the North Shore Original Bowl with organic açaí, strawberries, banana, blueberries, apple juice and a blend of seven antioxidant-rich superfruits and berries.

      Hours of operation for the west valley location are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

      Harvest by Roy Ellamar debuted last month at the Bellagio.

      The restaurant, which offers “New American cuisine and seasonal menus inspired by regional farms,” opened Dec. 24, according to a news release and restaurant spokesman.

      It features an exhibition kitchen and a snack wagon, which goes from table to table with dishes including a broccoli rabe pesto.

      The business-casual restaurant is open 5 to 10 p.m. every night.

    • The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada held the grand opening of its Mobility Training Center Jan. 7.

      The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada held the grand opening of its Mobility Training Center last week.

      The first appointment at the 14,700-square-foot facility, which debuted Jan. 7, was Wednesday.

      The $6.7 million center teaches RTC clients, especially seniors and people with disabilities, how to safely use public transit, according to a news release.

      The space is also a resource for paratransit certification and includes Angela’s House, “the only blindness skills training facility in Nevada,” offering visually impaired people a chance to learn life skills in a 1,200-square-foot apartment.

      The center at 5165 W. Sunset Road, near Decatur Boulevard, is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

      A family-friendly buffet and entertainment experience opened at the Boulevard mall last month.

      The mall welcomed the 60,000-square foot John's Incredible Pizza Company location Dec. 29.

      One side of the space includes themed dining rooms and a buffet with pizza, fried chicken, pasta, salad, soups and desserts. The other side offers more than 100 games, rides and attractions including bumper cars.

      The business is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

    • Kicks Lounge at Footaction opened Dec. 18, 2015, at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

      An athletic shoes and apparel store debuted last month at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

      The 1,204-square-foot Kicks Lounge at Footaction opened Dec. 18, selling Nike shoes, apparel and accessories.

      It is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. until midnight Friday and Saturday.
