A restaurant opening before the end of the year at the Venetian is looking to hire 150 workers.
Public House, scheduled to open next month in the Grand Canal Shoppes, is staging a job fair Tuesday through Thursday to interview applicants for almost a dozen jobs, including server, host, bartender, manager, supervisor, sous chef, cook, pastry chef and dishwasher. Applications will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Galileo Room 901 of the Venetian, and interviews will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Public House is the latest venture by Block 16 Hospitality, the Las Vegas company behind The Barrymore and Holsteins in the Cosmopolitan. The restaurant will feature upscale versions of traditional tavern fare, as well as several brands of whiskey and cognac, a wine tasting room and more than 24 beers on tap. The interior is designed to offer the feel of a Prohibition-era speakeasy and will feature natural wood and exposed kegs.
The eatery should not be confused with a second — and identically named — Public House opening on the Strip. That restaurant, scheduled to debut early next year in the Luxor, is the latest installment in a upscale pub chain with several East Coast locations.
