Lots of changes are afoot at Village Square.

The 250,000-square-foot outdoor retail center is in the midst of an 18-month renovation. Seven new businesses will join the 13 tenants already in place.

The new vendors are Avery’s Coffee, Blow N Go Hair Bar, Orange Therapy Fitness, Pisces Reef Fish Emporium, Settebello, Sumits Yoga and XElement Music and Dance.

The retail center at West Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road also is installing a new digital sign to better promote its businesses.

Other outlets are opening and closing in the valley, as well. Here's are several:

    • The Mirage Heritage

      Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak

Award-winning chef Tom Colicchio has a passion for cooking over an open flame, and he has brought it to the Strip.

Heritage Steak recently opened in the Mirage, offering a menu of fresh ingredients and antibiotic-free meats.

Up to 250 diners can enjoy meat prepared over charcoal grills, a wood-burning oven or a Grillwork Infierno that can be a hearth, smoker and broiler.

Heritage Steak is in the Mirage’s garden atrium and is open 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days a week.

    • This BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (with fries) is as American as freedom.

      Smashburger

Smashburger recently opened its first Henderson location, giving burger fanatics another meaty option on Eastern Avenue. (In-N-Out Burger is only a half-mile away).

The Henderson restaurant is the company's seventh in the valley and the first of two planned for Henderson.

Smashburger is at 9460 S. Eastern Ave., near Café Zupas, and is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m daily.

    • Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que has finally arrived at the Red Rock Resort.

      Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que

Red Rock Casino now has more dining options with the opening of Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que.

The northwest valley location is the second for Lucille’s. The first is in the District at Green Valley Ranch.

Lucille’s is open 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

    • Port of Subs employees work to fill orders.

      Port of Subs

Port of Subs celebrated another store opening last week with a new location at 151 N. Gibson Road in Henderson.

Customers were offered $3 medium subs and $1 drinks.

      Port of Subs is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

    • Apple Store

The Apple Store at the Forum Shops is closed.

      But don’t worry. It's temporary.

The store is undergoing renovations - much like a sister store at Fashion Show Mall did - and is slated to reopen Thursday.

    • Village Square

      Village Square

Seven new tenants are scheduled to open later this year in the remodeled Village Square.

The new additions are a coffee shop (Avery’s Coffee), a hair bar (Blow N Go Hair Bar), a fitness club (Orange Theory Fitness), a fish and aquarium shop (Pisces Reef Fish Emporiums), a pizza restaurant (Settebello), a yoga studio (Sumits Yoga) and a dance studio (XElement Music & Dance).
