Greyhound subsidiary offering L.A.-Las Vegas bus rides starting at $1

A subsidiary of Greyhound Lines is entering the discount bus service market in Las Vegas today.

BoltBus, which connects Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and Oakland, Calif., is adding Las Vegas and San Francisco to its route map, with daily round trips and three round trips a day on weekends.

BoltBus vehicles have fewer seats for greater leg room, free Wi-Fi service, and the company offers a loyalty program that rewards customers with a free one-way trip for every eight purchased. Ticket prices start at $1, plus a $5 booking fee, with the highest fares based on market demand.

Buses depart from the Greyhound terminal at 200 S. Main St. Weekend departures for the approximately five-hour trips are at 9 a.m., 2:30 and 5:45 p.m., with single midweek trips at 5:45 p.m. Buses arrive from Los Angeles at 3 p.m. midweek and at 12:15, 3 and 9:15 p.m. on weekends.
