A $20 million renovation project that includes a new lineup of restaurants and bars is underway at Green Valley Ranch resort in Henderson.

Station Casinos, which operates the casino, announced today that the project would include the introduction of four new dining and drinking establishments. They are:

• Mercadito Green Valley Ranch. Chicago-based restaurateurs Alfredo, Felipe and Patricio Sandoval are expanding their Mercadito Mexican restaurant into two locations in Las Vegas — GVR and Red Rock Resort, also operated by Station. Zagat named Mercadito as one of “America’s Hottest Mexican Restaurants” in 2013.

• Tippling Hall. “Tippling” is defined as “to drink liquor, especially in small amounts.” The Tippling Bros. — New York-based partners Tad Carducci and Paul Tanguay — will offer a range of beverages that includes everything from kegged cocktails to traditional brews, paired with a menu of comfort food from around the world.

• Pizza Rock. Tony Gemignani, who operates Pizza Rock Las Vegas downtown, will expand into Henderson with a menu of Italian entrees, pasta, pizza, artisan cocktails and an extensive list of imported beers and wines.

• Slice House by Tony Gemignani. A casual counterpart to Pizza Rock, the Slice House offers pizza by the slice along with such items as calzones, paninis and seasonal salads.

Quinn’s Irish Pub and the Terra Verde Italian restaurant have been closed for the renovation and will be replaced by the Mercadito and Tippling Hall, a Station spokeswoman said.

Also included in the renovation is a keno lounge that opened recently and an overhaul that drivers on the 215 Beltway have probably already noticed — a video marquee with a 30-foot LED screen.

In addition, Station is adding a wedding suite, upgrading rooms and VIP suites and creating additional buffet seating.

The project is expected to be completed by spring 2015.

Station announced this month that Red Rock Resort would undergo a $35 million renovation that will include construction of a restaurant row near the resort’s entrance, a new parking and drop-off area and an outdoor pedestrian walkway.
