Newest PT’s Gold features more slots

The exterior of PT’s Gold was reconfigured to create an outdoor covered patio area with heating and air-conditioning features that allow the patio to be used year-round.

The newest PT’s tavern has something most of them don’t — a lot more games.

Due to a quirk in zoning laws, this PT’s Gold, 7200 W. Lake Mead Blvd., just west of U.S. 95, will have as many as 35 video poker or slot games rather than 15, the limit for most taverns.

In the past, taverns meeting certain Clark County zoning regulations were allowed to have 35 machines. Later, the regulations were changed to impose the 15-machine limit on all new taverns, but existing locations were grandfathered in.

Before Golden purchased the location, it was called Beano’s and was a small locals casino known for meal deals. The tavern underwent six months of renovation before Golden opened it.

The location is Golden Gaming’s 53rd tavern in Nevada, 51 of which are in the Las Vegas Valley.

This is the fifth tavern that Golden opened in 2016. The others include PT’s Brewing Co. on North Tenaya Way, PT’s Gold on East Sunset Road in Henderson, PT’s Ranch on South Durango Drive and SG Bar on West Flamingo Road near the 215 Beltway.

Golden’s Senior Vice President Blake L. Sartini II said this latest opening and the others this year highlight his company’s confidence in the locals market in Las Vegas.

“Further expansion signifies our belief in the strength of the recovering Southern Nevada tavern industry and adds to our strong market leading position and our brand recognition,” Sartini said.
