Lucky Dragon begins taking applications to fill 800 jobs

Construction continues on the Lucky Dragon hotel-casino on Sahara Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard Thursday, May 5, 2016.

On the heels of an announcement that the Lucky Dragon had been fully financed and was scheduled for completion this year, the resort's operators have begun taking applications from prospective employees.

The Lucky Dragon, under construction on Sahara Avenue just west of Las Vegas Boulevard, launched an online employment center and will fill more than 800 positions, according to a release. The site, luckydragonlv.com, also features news about the property.

“We are proud to advance the hiring process with this important step of opening up our online employment center to hospitality professionals worldwide,” CEO Dave Jacoby said in the release. “We look forward to sharing frequent updates on our progress and additional details of our resort’s unique Asian offerings through our website.”

Eventually, visitors will be able to use the site to book rooms and get additional information about the property’s culinary offerings, gaming, special promotions, entertainment, retail and more.

The resort said it was seeking staff who could speak English and Chinese, as well as other Asian languages. Positions are available across all departments including casino operations, food and beverage operations and information technology.

The Lucky Dragon aims to be the “first casino resort to deliver an authentic Asian lifestyle experience” in Las Vegas, the project’s statement said. Its features will include signs in Chinese first and English second, multilingual staff members and a high-end tea garden.
