Shake Shack set for another Strip opening; downtown to welcome doughnut shop

O Face Doughnuts, 124 S. 6th Street, in downtown Las Vegas Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.

Burgers, fries and doughnuts.

If you’re like millions of Americans who love these heavenly fast-food delights, March is going to be your month.

Two restaurant chains beloved for their juicy burgers and sandwiches are opening new locations in the valley. Also, a joint created by a popular British chef is coming to the Strip.

Meanwhile, a doughnut shop downtown has closed. But doughnut lovers, don’t despair. A new one will take its place!

    • The Slow Boat to China, or a healthier chicken salad, at SkinnyFats.

      SkinnyFats

SkinnyFats will introduce its third valley location, this one in the northwest valley.

Although the restaurant has not announced an official opening date, it did confirm it will open in Centennial’s Shadow Mountain Marketplace, at the 215 Beltway and Decatur Boulevard.

SkinnyFats is popular among customers for its duel menu, one of which offers healthier food options.

Currently, the eatery has locations at Dean Martin Drive near Post Road and another at Warm Springs Road and Durango Drive. They are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    • Shake Shack

Just a little over a year after debuting on the Strip, Shake Shack announced that its third Las Vegas joint will be set inside the T-Mobile Arena.

The 20,000-seat stadium will open April 6.

Fans of the eatery will be able to enjoy popular menu items such as the Shroom Burger and crinkle cut fries. But concretes, the restaurant’s shake, will not be available.

Since its humble beginnings as a food cart inside Madison Square Garden in 2000, Shake Shack’s popularity has exploded. The chain now has locations across the globe.

    • A rendering of Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, coming soon to a Linq near you.

Fancy a bit of fish and chips?

Fancy no longer. The wait for the fourth local location of Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips will be here come June. It will be situated at the Linq.

Customers can savor British favorites like bangers and mash, sausages and seafood chowder.

Aside from this eatery, the controversial English chef also owns three other restaurants in the valley: Gordon Ramsay BurGR, Gordon Ramsay Steak and Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill. His restaurants across the globe have earned him 16 Michelin stars.

      O Face Doughnuts

O Face Doughnuts closed its downtown location in December, leaving a hole in the area for another pastry shop of its kind.

That (doughnut) hole will be filled this year as San Diego’s Donut Bar confirmed it will take over the 3,000-square-foot location on 124 S. Sixth St. The shop did not announce an official opening date and only replied “soon” to fan inquiries on social media.

The shop first gained a following in 2003 in downtown San Diego. Its popularity spread quickly thanks to its innovative approach to making doughnuts. There’s blueberry cheesecake, coconut dream, strawberry split, Mexican hot chocolate ... hungry yet?

And note to anyone who wants to work at the Donut Bar: The shop is now hiring for all positions.
