Antonio ‘The Magician’ Esfandiari ambassador for Ultimate Poker

Antonio Esfandiari plays in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker at the Rio in Las Vegas on Thursday, July 12, 2012.

The Magician has become ambassador.

Antonio Esfandiari, a two-time World Poker Tour champion, has signed with Stations Casino-owned Ultimate Poker to promote its website as a brand ambassador, the company announced Tuesday.

Known as “The Magician,” Esfandiari has won more than $23 million, two World Poker Tour titles and three World Series of Poker bracelets.

Esfandiari is the first professional poker player to promote a U.S.-licensed online poker company, officials said.

“We’re thrilled to have Antonio Esfandiari represent our company,” Ultimate Poker Chairman Tom Breitling said in a statement. “Antonio is the ultimate champion and modern poker player. He brings the gaming lifestyle to the online arena with his work-hard, play-hard attitude.”

While licensed by the state, Ultimate Poker has yet to open its website in Nevada, still awaiting approval of its gaming technology.
