REALTORS HONORED

The Nevada Association of Realtors has given four members awards recognizing service to their association, profession and community.

Myrna Kingham of Vegas Group Realty in Las Vegas received the Nevada Distinguished Realtor Award for ongoing and consistent service. A past president of both NVAR and the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, she has served on numerous NVAR committees and represented Nevada as a director with the National Association of Realtors.

Jack Woodcock of Prudential American Group in Las Vegas received the Realtor Active in Politics Award, which is given for government affairs advocacy and activities. He is a past president of the NVAR and GLVAR who remains active in their government affairs activities.

Linda Rheinberger of One Source Realty and Management in Las Vegas was given the Joe Nolan Award, which recognizes spirit, passion and professionalism in assisting other Realtors in the state. Rheinberger also is a past president of NVAR and GLVAR.

Ken Amundson of First Choice Realty 500 in Reno received the Achievement Award for outstanding service to local and state associations. He is a past president of the Reno-Sparks Association of Realtors.

NVAR also previously honored current NVAR President Mike Young of Chase International in Incline Village as its 2011 Nevada Realtor of the Year.

VOIT SELECTS OFFICE SITE

Voit Real Estate Services has signed the lease for a 7,667-square-foot regional office in Rainbow Sunset Pavilion.

“Our growth in client demand in the Las Vegas market during the last 24 months has been strong, requiring additional boots on the ground in this region, as well as a new space in which we can work most productively,” Las Vegas managing director Mike Montandon said in a news release.

Montandon noted Voit currently handles more than 1.2 million square feet of assignments locally on behalf of financial, institutional and individual owners.

PRIMESTOR ACQUIRES PLAZA

Primestor Development has acquired 4G Plaza, its first shopping center in Las Vegas and second in Nevada, for its Primestor-Platinum Urban Opportunity Fund I. The acquisition of the neighborhood center continues Primestor’s specialization in urban and Latino communities.

HOTEL REOPENS

Following a $150,000 capital improvement program and a change in ownership and management, Best Western Plus Henderson Hotel has reopened on North Boulder Highway. The three-year-old, 115-room property was purchased in April by Khem Babbar. The “Best Western Plus” designation is a result of improvements made by new owners.

PROJECTS COMPLETED

Danoski Clutts Building Group has completed two improvement projects at two retail locations at Mandalay Bay, the 2,780-square-foot Paradiso and the 2,740-square-foot Misura. The company also has begun work on Solera at Anthem Community Center, an expansion-and-remodel project. It is a design-build collaboration with JVC Architects, and scheduled for completion in the second quarter of this year.

COMPANY EXPANDS TO AREA

Irvine, Calif.-based Land Interests has opened an office in Henderson.

Rick Simmons will serve as managing director of the company’s Nevada office, at 701 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 200.

Land Interests is a full-service real estate asset management and brokerage firm that also operates offices in Sacramento, Calif., and Austin, Texas.

Simmons has been developing real estate in Southern Nevada since 1996 and recently was president of Sage Community Group’s Nevada division. He also was one of the founding development partners in the Deerfoot Meadows Power Center and was founder and president of ESE Land Corp.

“We have been planning to open an office in Nevada for quite some time,” Land Interests CEO Erik Frechette said in a release. “The only reason we did not do so is that we needed to find the right person to lead our expansion into the Nevada market. Rick is that person.”

NAHREP SETS EVENT

The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals will hold a down payment assistance seminar Jan. 18 at the Gold Coast.

The organization also has scheduled a social mixer Jan. 25 at the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. For more information, visit www.nvahrep.org.
