The Jabbawockeez showroom will replace a former Imax 3-D movie theater. Forte will be responsible for more than $500,000 in framing and drywall work, as well as building stage platforms and seating.

    • The Smiles for Survivors Foundation raised almost $15,000 at its second annual Blow Out Breast Cancer fundraiser, a 30 percent increase from the previous year. More than 250 people attended the event at Square Colour Salon and Spa in Summerlin. The nonprofit aims to raise awareness about the potential oral side effects of cancer treatment and to provide dental work for cancer patients and survivors.

    • For the first time, Arizona Charlie’s casinos will allow players to contribute their player’s points to provide a holiday meal for a hungry family. The Feed a Family promotion allows members to contribute up to 1 million points. For every 12,000 points collected, Arizona Charlie’s will donate a box of food to the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

    • The Public Education Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Community Ambulance. The donation will help H.P. Fitzgerald Elementary School replenish its uniform closet, which provides school uniforms to students in need. The funds also benefit the school’s Reading Is Fundamental program.

    • Staff from the Nevada State Development Corporation spent a day volunteering at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City. They clipped Campbell soup labels for St. Jude’s Campbell’s Soup Label Program (in which 1.5 million UPC labels earns a new van for children), sorted through electronics that guests leave behind in hotel rooms and Christmas decorations.

    • Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas resorts raised almost $9,000 for the American Cancer Society during the third annual Battle of the Bras Fashion Show and auction at Planet Hollywood. The competition was the culmination of a month-long initiative in which Caesars employees, Strip headliners and local media decorated bras in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
