Shark Reef Aquarium underwent a review to ensure it has and will continue to meet specific standards regarding animal care, veterinary programs, conservation, education and safety. AZA requires zoos and aquariums to successfully complete this accreditation process every five years.

Desert Springs Hospital is the first in Nevada to use the EnSite Precision cardiac mapping system, designed to improve accuracy, automation and flexibility for diagnostic mapping used in ablation procedures to treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms (cardiac arrhythmias). The new system allows physicians to see the electrical flows in the heart in real time.
