    • Lewis and Roca was recognized by Benchmark Litigation in its 2013 “Recommended Litigation Firm” guide. Attorneys Von S. Heinz (general commercial, insurance, white-collar crime) and Daniel Polsenberg (antitrust) were listed as “Local Litigation Stars.” Lewis and Roca employs about 100 attorneys in six offices.

    • James J. Pisanelli and Todd L. Bice, co-founders of the law firm of Pisanelli Bice, received AV Preeminent ratings from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for professional excellence for a lawyer.

    • Quality Care IPA, a local independent physicians association, has added two doctors to its network. Dr. Camilo Tabora is an internal medicine physician at Southern Nevada Internal Medicine, 3301 W. Charleston Blvd. Dr. Donald Merutka is an internal medicine physician with the Diagnostic Center of Medicine, 5380 S. Rainbow Blvd.

      Ali Roesener has been named an investment sales and leasing associate at Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services with Laramie Bracken’s team. A Las Vegas native, Roesener graduated from UNLV with honors. Michael Golubic has been named Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services’ chief engineer for the Zappos.com facilities management project. Golubic specializes in high-rise property administration. He previously worked for RMI Property Management as an assistant chief engineer.

    • Sandra Jauregui has been named director of community development and partnerships at the Financial Guidance Center (formerly the Consumer Credit Counseling Service). Jauregui will oversee the agency’s community, industry and government partnership programs in Nevada. She previously served as a regional representative and foreclosure mitigation specialist for U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

    • Dan Coppinger has been named president of MMC Contractors’ Las Vegas office. Coppinger started his career as a sheet metal apprentice more than 30 years ago.

    • Commercial real estate broker Matthew Bear has joined Avison Young’s brokerage as a principal. He will focus on capital markets, retail and advisory services transactions in Las Vegas. Bear has 23 years of commercial real estate experience.

    • Jonathan Fountain, a partner at Lewis and Roca, has written a chapter, “Challenges in the International Discovery Arena,” for a book, “Complying with International Discovery Regulations,” published by Aspatore books. Fountain works with the law firm’s intellectual property and commercial litigation practice groups.

    • Bob Olson has joined the Las Vegas office of Snell & Wilmer as a partner in the bankruptcy and reorganization practice group. He previously was a shareholder with the Greenberg Traurig law firm in Las Vegas.

    • Elena Otter has been hired as a marketing manager at Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects. She will manage the company’s marketing and business development departments.

    • Jeanne Koester was promoted to director of nursing services at Las Ventanas, Nevada’s only continuing care retirement community. Koester graduated as a registered nurse from the Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing and earned a bachelor’s degree in health arts, as well as a master’s degree in organizational management.

    • Alexa Hampton will be honored as the “2013 Design Icon” during Winter Las Vegas Market, which runs Jan. 28 to Feb. 1. Hampton is a first-time recipient of the award, which celebrates modern designers and their contributions to the industry. Hampton is the president and featured designer of Mark Hampton LLC, an interior design firm.

    • Barry Hall was named chief executive officer at Celebrating Legacy, a social media startup that provides web-based subscription services focused on digital afterlife, genealogical relationships and social media. Hall has more than 35 years of business experience. He was chief financial officer of EarthLink Inc., chairman and CEO of CalAmp Corp., a manufacturer of satellite television and wireless cable amplifiers and founder and CFO of Thwapr Inc., a mobile video technology company.

    • Attorney Bradley Schrager has joined the law firm of Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin as a partner specializing in political and legislative processes. Schrager will handle campaign finance compliance matters, election litigation, ballot initiative cases and ethics investigations.

    • Scott Reber has joined the sales team at Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. Reber previously was a salesman at Towbin Prestige in the Valley Automall. Reber is the No. 1 Dodge and Ram salesman in the district, which includes Arizona, Alaska, Nevada, Washington, Idaho, Oregon and parts of Utah. His team once sold 38 vehicles in a 24-hour period. His personal record is 16 cars in one day.
