    • The 2011 Contractor of the Year awards were announced Nov. 29 by the Nevada Contractors Association, a nonprofit trade group. Recipients and their awards are: Aggregate Industries-SWC, Contractor of the Year; Stewart & Sundell Concrete, Subcontractor of the Year; and Wells Cargo Construction, Safest Contractor of the Year. Heavy Highway/Civil Project of the Year was awarded to the $41.5 million ACE Green Line by Las Vegas Paving Corp., while the Building Project of the Year went to the $121.7 million Terminal 3 Parking Garage at McCarran International Airport by McCarthy Building Cos. Other awards went to Werdco B.C. (Supplier of the Year), Thomas Petroleum (Associate of the Year) and Las Vegas Paving’s Rick Ewing (Recruiter of the Year).

    • The Clark County Bar Association has announced its 2012 executive board of directors. Officers and their firms or organizations are: president, Linda M.     • Jan Jones, senior vice president of government relations and communications for Caesars Entertainment, received this year’s ATHENA Award for leadership from the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada at a Dec. 9 awards program.

    • Las Vegas Chapter 99 of the Institute of Real Estate Management will hold its first forecast event from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Bellagio. Cost of the event is $55 in advance, or $70 at the door. Seven speakers are scheduled. More information is available at www.lasvegasirem.org.

    • The law firm of Pisanelli Bice PLCC has been recognized with a “Best Law Firms” Tier 1 ranking from U.S. News & World Report and the Best Lawyers in America for its work in commercial litigation and mergers and acquisitions litigation.

    • Datanamics Inc. has achieved “Small Business Specialization” status from Cisco, which recognizes resale channel partners who meet the company’s technology and service requirements for small businesses.

    • Zachariah Larson has joined the law firm of Marquis Aurbach Coffing, which has changed its name to MAC Law. A bankruptcy attorney, Larson previously was with Larson & Larson, and just completed a term as president of the Clark County Bar Association.

    • Attanasio Landscape Architecture President Chris Attanasio was awarded the 2011 Project of the Year by the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Nevada chapter, for his design work on Hidden Falls Park in Henderson.

    • Vincent T. Oliva is senior vice president of Benchmark Association Services. He previously was president and chief operating officer of the AAMC Management Company.

    • Veteran Las Vegas health care executive David Blackman is president and CEO of HIPAAreview.com, which specializes in audits of hospitals and physician practices. The company recently was certified to perform Centers for Medicare and Medicaid audits.

    • Lorena Amaya is director of advertising for Primm Valley Casino Resorts. She previously was marketing manager.

    • Saguaro Power Co. has been named the recipient of the Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission’s Community Pride Award. The award recognizes Henderson citizens, groups and businesses that have improved the appearance of their neighborhoods or added to the beauty or cleanliness in the city.

    • The Nevada Association of Realtors’ “Face of Foreclosure” report has been honored with a bronze award in the educational program category in Association TRENDS’ 2011 All-Media Contest. The NVAR report on foreclosure issues facing Nevada homeowners was among more than 450 entries in the association publications contest.

    • SK+G Interactive was recently recognized with the Las Vegas Interactive Marketing Association Award for “Best eCommerce Platform” for their work on the L’Auberge Lake Charles website. The LVIMA’s Digital Media Awards recognize those who have excelled in various trends in digital media and interactive creativity in Las Vegas.

    • Ravella at Lake Las Vegas has been named one of GAYOT’s “Top 10 New U.S. Hotels” in 2011. GAYOT was launched in 2002 to serve as a resource for consumers on dining, travel and lifestyle.

    • Arzu Delp is director of resort experience at Aquae Sulis Spa and Salon inside the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, overseeing its daily operations, in addition to the resort pool, Waterside Cafe and Golf and Transportation. She had served as director of spa operations for the Peppermill Resort in Reno and the Spa at Red Rock Casino.

    • Derek Giles, a certified public accountant, is the managing principal at Summit Consultancy Group, LLC.

    • North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce board members and directors were sworn in at an installation ceremony on Jan. 5. Board members and their offices for 2012 are: chairman, Mike PeQueen; chairman-elect, Rob McCoy; vice chair-finance, Shelby Keefer; vice chair-government affairs, Joe Cain; vice chair-membership, Julie Gilday-Shaffer; and immediate past chairman, John McMillan. Richard Behrens of American Family Insurance is chairman of the chamber’s ambassadors, and Stephen Melancon of Premiere Printer Repair is co-chairman. Rob McCoy of CenturyLink and Joe Cain of Silver Nugget Gaming are co-chairmen of the government affairs committee.
