      Lyssa Anderson has joined Kaempfer Crowell as Of Counsel in the law firm. She focuses her practice on police litigation, employment law, appellate law, commercial litigation and professional malpractice defense. She has successfully argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Nevada Supreme Court.

    • Marek Bute has been named president of Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s board of trustees. Bute has been a member of the board since 2010, serving as interim president this year and has committed himself to fundraising efforts in serving those affected by AIDS/HIV in Southern Nevada. Bute works as a commercial litigation associate for Snell & Wilmer LLP.

    • Three community leaders from the valley have been elected to the Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada board of directors. The new members, Justin Brough, Emily Wofford and Justin R. Cochran, bring a wealth of expertise in public relations, banking and real estate law to support RTSNV in serving low-income homeowners. Brough is business banking market executive at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Cochran is an attorney at Snell & Wilmer LLP, and Wofford is director of public relations at Caesars Entertainment.

      Harsch Investment Properties, a privately held real estate investment company headquartered in Portland, Ore., announced the hiring of Michelle Brown as senior property manager. Brown will oversee the daily operations and management of Harsch’s central portfolio, including assets in the Chinatown market. She brings more than 15 years of real estate management experience managing 3.5 million square feet of portfolios for multiple owners. She is the 2012 president-elect for the Institute of Real Estate Management.

      Kathleen Nylen

      Kathleen Nylen, ISHC, CRE, principal of PBTK Consulting, has been appointed to Nevada Public Radio’s board of directors. Nylen heads up PBTK Consulting, a gaming and real estate consulting and valuation company. Her clients include local and international hotel and casino owners and operators, major financial institutions, real estate developers, property managers and governmental agencies. She also serves on the Clark County Board of Equalization, mostly recently as chairman.
