Grand Canyon Development Partners, a Las Vegas-based construction and real estate development and construction-management company, hired Mary Lammers to be a project manager for the Reno area.

Harsch Investment Properties acquired the 150 North Gibson Road building in the Black Mountain Business Park in Henderson, which adds 32,820 square feet of commercial property to its portfolio. The building is on 2.11 acres and features four 8,205-square-foot units. Michael De Lew and Greg Pancirov of Colliers International represented Harsch.

Harrison’s Guest House was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The building stands as the only known surviving example of an African-American boarding house in Las Vegas from the era of segregation. Harrison House, a local nonprofit partnering with the 5th Ward Chamber of Commerce, maintains the site as a cultural and community center.

The Hard Rock Hotel had a topping-off ceremony to mark the completion of the steel construction for its expanded meeting and convention space. The project, which is adding 18,000 square feet of space, is expected to be finished this winter.

The Clark County Commission transferred land to the Nevada System of Higher Education for building the forthcoming UNLV medical school’s teaching facility. The 9.11 acres sit at 625 Shadow Lane, across from University Medical Center and Valley Hospital.

The Manheim Nevada solar farm in North Las Vegas consists of two solar fields powering HVAC systems, office equipment and lighting as well as paint booths, mechanic bays and detail equipment.

The Clark County School District broke ground on an elementary school building at West Preparatory Institute School for Academic Excellence at Charles I. West Hall. The 54,554-square-foot, single-story building will be the first elementary building for the school at 2050 Sapphire Stone Ave., Las Vegas.

Representatives chose A-Tech because the school has consistently closed achievement gaps for underserved students, with equally high graduation rates for students across all demographic groups and 90 percent of graduating seniors enrolling in postsecondary education.
