Shannon Wilson and Russel Geist are partners at Hutchison & Steffen. Wilson practices in the firm’s litigation department, focusing on family law, but also practicing commercial litigation and insurance defense in the health care professionals advocacy group. Geist focuses his practice primarily in trust and probate litigation.

The Nevada National Security Site selected two senior principal scientists and one senior principal engineer to be recognized as “distinguished” in their elevated positions. Paul Guss, formerly senior principal scientist, is now distinguished scientist, innovative technologies, Remote Sensing Laboratory. Ed Daykin, formerly senior principal scientist, is now distinguished scientist, diagnostic research and materials studies, Defense xperimentation & Stockpile Stewardship. Stuart Baker, formerly senior principal engineer, is now distinguished engineer, diagnostic instrumentation, DESS.

The accounting firm of Stewart Archibald & Barney is combining with RubinBrown. Glenn Goodnough will continue in his role as managing partner of the Las Vegas office. Daniel Holmes will serve as a partner and co-practice leader for RubinBrown’s gaming practice, focusing on expansion in the Las Vegas market. Jessica Holmes will serve in RubinBrown’s business advisory services group as a manager with a focus on data analytics and consulting services for the western United States.

The Clark County School District was recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report. The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. CCSD has received this award for the past 30 years.

World Investment Network acquired the 31,000-square-foot Mission Linen building with plans to redevelop the architectural landmark property over the next 12 months into a Class A creative office and entertainment space.

The Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation and the Southern Nevada Health District developed a Nutrition Standards Policy for DETR’s Business Enterprise Program. BEN provides clients of DETR’s Bureau of Services to the Blind and Visually Impaired with training and on-the-job-experience managing businesses in public buildings. The policy establishes nutrition standards for beverages, meals and other menu items for consumers who use BEN-operated facilities and cafes.
