Nevada’s 2012 First Lady of Professional Rodeo to be Crowned

LAS VEGAS, Nevada—April 12-15, 2012—Contestants will compete for the prestigious title of Miss Rodeo Nevada 2012 during a four day pageant. Young ladies from all over the state of Nevada will be judged in the major categories of Horsemanship, Personality, Appearance and Knowledge while competing in the areas of public speaking, personal interviews, modeling, photogenics, and rodeo/equine knowledge.
The Miss Rodeo Nevada competition exists for the purpose of selecting a young lady to serve as an official spokesperson for the sport of professional rodeo. Throughout her year, she will travel nearly 30,000 miles representing the state of Nevada, educating the public and creating awareness about the sport, its sponsors and its opportunities. The winner will represent the state of Nevada at the 58th Annual 2013 Miss Rodeo America Pageant this December during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. She will compete against state titleholders from across the nation, in the categories of Horsemanship, Personality, Appearance, and Speech. Contestants range in age from 19 to 25, and each take to heart the job of representing America’s sport of rodeo. In addition to conducting the annual competition, the Miss Rodeo America Organization administers a scholarship program. Providing educational opportunities to young ladies competing in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant is a major focus of the organization.
Along with the prestigious title of Miss Rodeo Nevada and the honor of representing the state of Nevada at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, the newly crowned queen will win a custom made Cactus Brand saddle from Steer Gear, a leather Brief Case provided by Grant’s Leather, a pair of leather chinks donated by Mike Strong Leather, a personalized belt buckle, perpetual crown and chaps, along with many other prizes.
The public is invited to attend throughout the week: Horsemanship – Saturday April 14th from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at the Werk Ranch in North Las Vegas, Fashion Show, Speeches and Autograph signing – Saturday April 14th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at the Fremont Street Stage and Coronation – Sunday April 15th at 8:00AM at Boulder Station Hotel.
