The InNEVation Center to Host 2013 Startup Weekend

LAS VEGAS – Entrepreneurs, startups and business leaders will convene May 3-5, 2013 at The inNEVation Center to participate in Las Vegas Startup Weekend, a weekend-long event where entrepreneurs come together to pitch ideas, learn business basics, build partnerships and ultimately, start companies.
Startup Weekend, a global grassroots movement, hosts events around the world. Las Vegas Startup Weekend follows the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch a startup idea and receive feedback from peers. Teams organically form around top ideas, as determined by popular vote. Each team has 54 hours to create a business model, code, design, and determine market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations of top ideas to entrepreneurial leaders.

LaunchKey, the winner of last year’s Las Vegas Startup Weekend at The inNEVation Center, successfully garnered support and funding after the event. LaunchKey’s application enables users on websites, applications and other networked systems to securely and privately authenticate without passwords, using their smart device.
The inNEVation Center, developed by Switch Founder and CEO Rob Roy, is a public and private collaborative workspace environment that supports startups, businesses, nonprofits and higher education in Nevada.
