Crescent’s Bar Management Student earns top-25 for Pama Liqueur’s Nationwide Contest

Las Vegas, NV: Crescent Schools Bartending and Casino Dealer School in Las Vegas recognizes Bar Management student for placing in the top 25 for Pama Liqueur’s, National “Home Bar Star” contest.
Mrs. Terry Carillo, a 26-year Las Vegan, is a 51-year-old Bar Management student at Crescent Schools. This is a 12-week course that helps students move into a Head Bartender or Beverage Manager position. Or, if students plan on opening their own establishment, the course teaches skills needed to turn a profit and avoid common pitfalls.
Carillo’s instructor, Michael Peek, gave them the challenge in February, to come up with a recipe utilizing Pama Liqueur. Pama is made with all-natural pomegranate juice, premium vodka and a touch of imported tequila and is 34 proof.
Carillo tried several recipes until she came up with her final cocktail, she named Pama Sutra. She submitted a picture and the ingredients for her cocktail on PAMA’s website on February 28, 2012, a day prior to the deadline.
When Carillo checked the website on March 9, 2012, she was pleasantly surprised to see her drink was in the top 25. The cocktail recipes were chosen by the PAMA judging panel.
Now she needs people to vote for her cocktail in order to make the top 10, highest-voted recipes.
People can go to www.pamaliqueur.com/homebarstar to see and vote for her Pama Sutra cocktail recipe.
Carillo has already solicited the help of her husband’s FaceBook friends, family members, and classmates, to help vote her into the top 10. People can vote every 24 hours until March 23, 2012.
In addition to being a student at night, Carillo is an Office Manager during the day for J. Peery Construction, a local General Contractor.
If chosen, the top 10 will be judged by Kate Krader (Food & Wine), Darryl Robinson (The Cooking Channel’s “Drink Up!”), and, Eben Freeman (Master Mixologist and PAMA spokesperson).
After judging, the 4 runners-up will receive a one-year subscription to Food & Wine magazine and a PAMA gift bag.
The winner will receive a trip for two to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, CO, June 2012, and $2,000 spending money. Plus, they will receive the opportunity for the recipe to be presented in front of thousands of attendees at the Grand Tasting Tent in Aspen. The recipe will also be featured on PAMA’s website.

For Immediate release: March 19, 2012
