Nevada Security Association awards two scholarships

The Nevada Security Association presents annual college scholarship awards to students whose parents are full-time, active members of a Clark County Nevada police or fire department. There are two awards: 1st Place: $1,500.00 and 2nd Place: $1,000.00. The first place winner is automatically entered in the Electronic Security Association Youth Scholarship competition for a chance to win a national award. Since 1996, the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and participating state associations have given out more than a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships.
The 2012 Nevada Security Association Scholarship first place winner is Megan Walters who attends Palo Verde High School and the second place winner is McKenna Murray who attends Advanced Technologies Academy. The scholarships will be awarded at a luncheon during the International Security Conference taking place at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 29th, 2012.
This scholarship award is a small way for our industry to say thanks to our very dedicated public safety community, and to help pay for an advanced education for deserving students.
