Michael Jr. To Headline 2nd Annual NAB Faith 'N' Film Summit
April 15th in Las Vegas
Los Angeles, CA ~ Returning for his second year, award-winning comedian and director, Michael Jr. will headline this year's NAB Conference Faith 'N' Film Summit at the Las Vegas Convention Center on April 15th. Themed "Don't Laugh!", Michael will take the stage at
10:45 am, followed by a discussion about the role of comedy in films. Actors Corbin Bernsen (Psych, LA Law) and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Soul Surfer) are part of this year's speaker lineup.
In 2011, Michael won "Best of Fest" for his directorial debut in the emotionally charged documentary Comedy; The Road Less Traveled, a film that shows how laughter can inspire and give hope to the unfortunate. Receiving critical praise, Comedy; The Road Less Traveled has been shown to college students, churches and cities across America moving people to get involved in their communities to help those who are less fortunate. About Michael Jr.: Comedian George Wallace offered Michael Jr. his first break when he took him to the legendary Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, home of Jay Leno and “The Tonight Show” staff. The club’s owner slipped Michael onstage…and a week later Michael was performing at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, where he became the first comedian to ever appear live via satellite on The Tonight Show. That performance catapulted Michael’s career and has resulted in additional appearances on CNN, The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, TV One, The Late, Late Show, BET, Jimmy Kimmel Live, SiTV, and The Byron Allen Show. His clean comedy has earned him national crossover appeal giving him a platform on both church and comedy club stages. It is this versatility that has enabled Michael to author a children’s book – The Parts We Play, to be featured in the wildly successful comedy, Thou Shalt Laugh DVDs and to have made his award winning directorial debut with Comedy: The Road Less Traveled available now @ www.michaeljr.com or in stores nationwide.
