Earth Rising Headlines Outdoor Benefit Concert for Permaculture Group

Great Basin Permaculture announces an outdoor benefit concert, Apr. 22, 4-8 p.m.
(Las Vegas-Apr. 11, 2012) Building a thriving community is on many Las Vegas residents’ minds’ this Earth Day.
Apr.22, 2012, Great Basin Permaculture will host Yours on Earth. Featuring 4 local bands, a permaculture scavenger hunt and a sound garden installation, concert attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy Vegas Roots Community Garden on Earth Day 2012. In addition to the festivities, a raffle for baskets of donated goods and services from local sustainable businesses will be available.
Peter Frigeri of Gaia Flowers, Jessica Penrod, a certified permaculturist, and Tiffany Whisenant, an experienced local gardener, formerly of The Cosmopolitan horticulture department, are the three co-founders and serve as board members for Great Basin Permaculture.
Performances by local bands Earth Rising, The Clydesdale, and Jacob Chidester are the highlight of the event. Earth Rising will be showcased this year at the Indie Music Fest; check them out at http://www.earthrisingmusic.com. The venue, Vegas Roots Community Garden, is Las Vegas’ first community garden located in downtown. Great Basin Permaculture has nurtured an approximate 5,300 square foot plot of land into the beginnings of a sustainable desert food forest.
Anyone interested in supporting local sustainable businesses, non-profits, musicians, and artists should not miss this chance to enjoy Las Vegas’ first community garden on Earth Day 2012.
About the event: Yours on Earth is hosted by Great Basin Permaculture. The outdoor concerts, scavenger hunt, raffles, and sound garden installation will be held at Vegas Roots Community Garden near downtown Las Vegas. Performances by local bands Earth Rising, The Clydesdale, and Jacob Chidester. Tickets are $10, raffle tickets are $5 each.
