TITLE: Teach 4 Change Program Debut
DATE: April 28, 2012
ANNOUNCEMENT TEXT:
Teach 4 Change, Inc. is a non-profit organization which provides instruction for our youth on the importance of Teamwork, Honor and Integrity. On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the Teach 4 Change (T4C) race car will make its race debut at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway driven by Billy “The Professor” Mitchell. The T4C race car is the primary promotional venue for the program and with the race car’s bright, eye-catching design, it will bring awareness to the T4C program for parents, educators and organizations.
“Teach 4 Change is all about educating our youth on the values of teamwork, honor and integrity,” said Founder Billy Mitchell, “With budget cutbacks in our school systems, our youth lack the programs needed to encourage, equip and help them understand these values, values that are necessary to become effective future leaders in our community and organizations.”
While teaching at Coronado High School in Las Vegas, Billy developed the T4C teaching model that provided students the opportunity to design, build and maintain a NASCAR Super Late Model race car, while learning the value of teamwork and how to implement the T.E.A.M. - Together Everyone Achieves More – concept. This program has impacted thousands of students and now has been taken to whole new level by introducing it to communities in California.
“The T4C program is unique! By creating an epic experience using auto racing to teach quality of life topics, Teach 4 Change keeps the learning fun and engaging,” said the organization's Marketing Director Shelly Savageau. “At T4C with the help of our partners, our desire is to change the world one student at a time by providing them tools they’ll need to succeed.”
Teach 4 Change, formerly known as "Team Cougar Racing" was founded in 2007. It is headquartered in Fullerton, CA and the program is offered currently in California and Nevada. For additional information about the program, please visit www.teach4change.org or send an email to [email protected].
