Medical Tourism Redirects Healthcare Focus to Vegas

As Obamacare continues to confuse a divided America, the medical tourism industry is making more sense to patients looking for timely access to affordable and quality treatments – both domestically and internationally.

The Medical Tourism Association®, which has gained national and international attention of late in the New York Times and on “ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline (Watch the Video),” will gather some 2,000 delegates – hospital administrators, physicians and clinicians, insurance executives, employers, government policy makers, and related travel and tourism entities -- to the 6th World Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress, Nov. 3-6, 2013, at Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas.

“Whether or not the Affordable Care Act is the real reason for rising healthcare costs, changes to benefits offerings, pricier coverage plans or the rain in Spain, a proactive segment of the healthcare industry will redirect nervous energies not at Washington, D.C., but toward Las Vegas, where they will share their experiences and offer working strategies that alleviate or solve mounting concerns,” said Renée-Marie Stephano, President of the Medical Tourism Association®.

Stephano said the Medical Tourism Association® serves as a flexible platform for its members to connect, obtain training and certification, and develop initiatives for employers seeking innovative ways to cut costs. Many healthcare provider and payor groups have turned to the Medical Tourism Association® for direction in building medical networks beyond borders as an alternative to continued uncertainty associated with Obamacare and health care reform.
