UniFirst-Henderson Earns ISO Certification

UniFirst’s industrial laundry facility in Henderson, NV has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for the quality management systems it has in place for the cleaning and servicing of its customers’ work apparel and for providing them with facility services products.
UniFirst is a leading provider of workplace uniforms and protective clothing to businesses, large and small, within a wide range of high-tech and industrial industries throughout the U.S. and Canada.
UniFirst General Manager Tom Bosanko said earning the ISO 9001:2008 certification, an internationally recognized symbol of “quality,” required his laundry facility to document all its workflow processes in exacting detail—from those used to evaluate suppliers to those dedicated to controlling computerized wash formulas to those put in place to gauge customer satisfaction. “Our primary business objective is to provide our customers with only the best service possible, along with great looking, image-enhancing uniforms and facility services items,” Bosanko said. “Being awarded this certification underscores our commitment to that objective.”
During the course of the certification process, Bosanko said all of the laundry facility’s employees learned that “the UniFirst ISO Quality Policy adheres to three key points that are based on the company's founding core values: Do it right the first time, Keep customers satisfied, and Focus on continual improvement.” Following these basic guidelines, Bosanko said, “inevitably leads to a win-win situation for UniFirst and our customers.”
UniFirst President and CEO Ronald Croatti noted the ISO certification was awarded following an in-depth, one-week quality audit by Perry Johnson Registrars, a leading certifying authority. Croatti added that UniFirst maintains more than 200 customer servicing facilities throughout North America and the company’s goal is “to ISO certify all of them within the coming decade.”
This industrial laundry operation in Henderson joins a growing list of UniFirst facilities that have been awarded the ISO certifications. To date, UniFirst has more than about half of its facilities ISO certified with many more currently undergoing the rigorous examination process.
