Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth Open House & Yard Sale

LAS VEGAS, April 27, 2012 — The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth Board of Directors, staff, and clients invite the public to attend an open house, community yard sale, and barbeque May 19 at the William Fry Drop-In Center to raise awareness of the organization’s services for homeless youth.
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth will be opening its Drop-In Center facility to the public for tours, information-sharing, and a meet-and-greet with staff and clients. The event will also showcase information on how community members can get involved in the agency’s work to “end homelessness among Nevada’s youth.”
In addition to the open house, the event will also feature a community yard sale. Locals are invited to rent a space for $20 to sell their own items. Tables can also be rented for an additional $5. Everyone is invited to shop this multi-seller sale to find unique and bargain items to take home. There will also be a barbeque lunch for a suggested donation. All proceeds benefit Southern Nevada’s homeless youth.
Approximately 6,000 homeless youth were enrolled in Clark County schools last year. The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth provides comprehensive services for Southern Nevada’s homeless youth population, including housing, food, clothing, transportation, education and employment assistance, case management, family reunification, and respite care.
The open house, yard sale, and barbeque will take place at the William Fry Drop-In Center at 4981 Shirley Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 19.

NPHY started in 2000 when a group of concerned citizens formed a coalition to address the needs of abused, neglected, and abandoned youth in the Las Vegas Valley. Since then, the Partnership has provided services to more than 5,000 local youth and has grown to become the most comprehensive homeless youth service provider in Nevada. NPHY offers wraparound services for homeless teens extending from street outreach and 24-hour crisis intervention services to a full-time drop-in center and independent living program.
