Springdale, UT. to be Center of Native Flute World May 17, 18, & 19, 2012

The Zion Flute Festival is the premier Native Flute festival in the world. In the last ten years the Native Flute has become tremendously popular, due to its hauntingly rich sound and the ease of learning to play the Native Flute. This popularity has led many Native Flute events happening throughout the country yearly.
The 8th Annual Zion Flute Festival is returning to Springdale, Utah May 17, 18 and 19 at the Springdale City Park and O.C. Tanner Amphitheater. The Festival will play host to the finest Native American Flute musicians in the world in what is being called a “World Music Event.”

Concerts will be held May 17, 18 and 19 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person. Children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.zionflutefestival.com or at the entrance to the festival and the concert.
The performers are literally a “Who’s Who” of Native and World flute musicians. The Thursday, May 17th evening Concert features Cornell Kinderknecht, Joe Young and Bill Miller. The Friday May 18th evening Concert features Scott August and Jeff Ball Band. The Saturday May 19th evening Concert features Rona Yellow Robe and Robert Mirabal Band. The Festival Stage will feature internationally known Native American musician, Arvel Bird.

In addition to the evening concerts, the Festival will host 2 1/2 days of flute music as well as the finest Native American-style flute makers in the world and artisans and vendors from all over the United States. Workshops and lessons, appealing to all ages and abilities, will be offered throughout the Festival. The Festival opens Thursday, May 17 at 1 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Hours for the Festival Friday are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
An entrance fee for the Festival itself is $5 per person per day with children under 12 free and may be paid at the Festival entrance. A $70 Festival Pass is also available. It includes Entrance Fees and Concert Tickets for the weekend, a savings of $20.
