Nevada Health CO-OP to Host Last-Call Enrollment Event
Advertisement
WHO: Nevada Health CO-OP
WHAT: Last Call for CO-OP is a community event to encourage last-minute enrollment on the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange before the Monday, March 31, deadline. The all-day event is open to any and all Nevada residents and will provide information about health issues and enrollment, as well as free health screenings.
The event will offer free food and drinks from Red Apple Grill and raffles for items including gift cards, gym swag bags and more. Health-care vendors attending will include Turntable Health, WellHealth, Catamaran RX and Nevada Health Centers. All vendors will be available to answer questions and provide free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, auscultation screenings to assess respiratory and cardiovascular health, and vision checks.
People who RSVP for the event in advance will be entered to win a CO-OP computer tablet. Individuals can RSVP at [email protected], where they must provide the entrant’s full name, phone number and the number of people attending in the group. Entrants must check in at the event to win.
WHY: The March 31 deadline for open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act is fast approaching, after which people will not be able to sign up for coverage through health insurance exchanges or for ACA-compliant individual coverage sold off the exchanges.
The Nevada Health CO-OP, the only not-for-profit health insurance provider on the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange, is striving to raise awareness of the important deadline and assist individuals and businesses with signing up for coverage that fits their unique needs. The CO-OP encourages anyone still without insurance to attend the event to learn more about their coverage options in a relaxed and fun environment.
Nevada Health CO-OP is a member-owned not-for-profit, meaning that all health insurance premium dollars stay in Nevada. The CO-OP just opened a customer service walk-in center where individuals and businesses can obtain free assistance with enrollment on the state exchange.
Those who miss the March 31 enrollment deadline and don’t have coverage for the year must pay a penalty, unless they fall into an exemption from the coverage requirement.
