My name is Kelly Sowers. I am the Public Relations Director for the Women’s Club of Summerlin. This organization was founded as a 501(c)3 in 2001. Our mission is to help women and children in the Las Vegas Valley through philanthropic endeavors. In 2003, the Women’s Club of Summerlin created a grant program called Dare to Dream. Each year WCS helps local women achieve their dreams and improve their quality of life by providing grants of up to $1,000. The grant money can be used for continuing education, starting a new business, or skills training to enhance their lives and the lives of others in our community.
The Women’s Club of Summerlin is looking for an opportunity to expose our grant program to a wider audience. Attached is a press release for our Dare to Dream Program. Please let me know if you are interested in publishing this event in your publication. I look forward to hearing from you.

*Make Your Dreams Come True!*
The Women’s Club of Summerlin is about women helping women. Each year the
organization awards “Dare to Dream” grants to women who are trying to better their
lives. This could be assistance with educational opportunities, learning new skills, business development or equipment – anything a woman can dream of that will help her move toward a desired goal.
Grants are awarded based on the impact the grant will have on the recipient and others in the community, the merit of the requested program or project, and personal need. The “Dare to Dream” grant is a means of impacting our community by reaching out to local women on an individual and personal basis.
Any woman over the age of 21 residing in the Las Vegas Valley is welcome to apply for a grant (club members are ineligible but their family members may apply). Applications are distributed through May of the grant year and grants are awarded in June. Funding for the grants is provided through a series of fundraisers, private donations, and the overwhelming generosity of our members. We are now accepting applications for 2012.
