Sea of Red Shirts to Descend upon District’s Sahara Building
Advertisement
*** Wednesday, February 8, 2012 ***
Who: The Clark County Education Association (CCEA), the union representing nearly 18,000 teachers in Clark County public schools, will be joined by hundreds of teachers to demonstrate against increasing class sizes. Teachers will urge Clark County School District (CCSD) officials to put more resources in the classroom and provide teachers with the tools needed to deliver a quality education that will increase student achievement and success.
What: CCSD officials must make students’ education their top priority. CCSD must invest in education and put more resources in the classroom. Increasing class size by an average of 3 to 4 students will hurt students’ academic success.
Every day CCSD plays political games and doesn’t provide the tools and resources needed in the classroom, the learning experience of more than 300,000 students is shortchanged. The School Board Trustees’ consideration to increase class size by an average of 3 to 4 students will severely hinder our students’ educational opportunities and, ultimately, affect their future. It is time District officials make students their top priority. They must provide students with the best opportunities for success and it starts with additional resources in the classroom. Our students need a quality education to succeed in life – provide them the opportunity now!
When: Wednesday, February 8, 2012 – from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: In front of the Clark County School District Building
5100 W. Sahara Avenue
Las Vegas, NV 89146
